ABBI SPRINGER 

GENERAL MANAGER

Abbi joined the One World family in 2012 as a hostess at Lennie’s, while earning her degree in anthropology at Indiana University. In 2014 she moved to Paris where her love of food, wine and hospitality transformed into a lifestyle. Returning to the United States she landed in another food paradise, New York City’s Chinatown. After a year of eating her way through NY, waiting tables and doing archaeological field work, she came back to Bloomington and joined the Lennie’s management team. Abbi has worked as an event planner for IU’s Kelley School of Business as well as freelance event planning. When she’s not working, you can find Abbi hiking in the woods, studying cultural anthropology or in her kitchen, cooking up a storm.

KATIE ALLEN 

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Katie Allen came here 10 years ago for school but she stayed for Bloomington. She has worked in restaurants since age 19 as a server and then bartender.  Katie loves to keep moving. She prefers to walk or ride her bike than drive and spends much of her free time outside with her dog Raisin. She meditates on her plants and is inspired to cook by past coworkers and cheesy TV cooking shows.

RON ABDON

KITCHEN MANAGER

Born in Indianapolis, Kitchen Manager Ron now makes his home in the hinterlands of Monroe County.  He is a 20 year kitchen veteran, including those of Lennie’s and One World Catering.  In addition to managing the kitchen at Hive, Ron also holds the positions of head chicken wrangler and garden assistant on his family’s farm.  When not wrangling chickens or his children, Ron spends his free time cooking up restaurant quality meals for his family using ingredients straight from the family farm and other local producers.  Formally obsessed with baking bread at home, Ron now spends more time reading about mythical monsters with his children than baking. He is a lover of hops, music on vinyl, tacos, and looking for cookbooks at used book sales.
